Hi , the orange engine light came on at 356miles , the handbook says exhaust issue drive to dealer . So van booked in @ MAN trucks , who then rang and said it’s ready , the lights gone out when we put some diesel in you owe us £20 for fuel and we have done bits and bobs ??? .Collected van asked what have you done answer. I dont know I’ve just started , ran for a few days fuel went low and lights back on again . So emailed service director @MAN said would ask a van technician , still waiting for a reply . Anyone have any suggestions or had this issue .

It could been low on fuel and failed a regen. Try to keep the diesel 1/2 full so it can do its regeneration.

Hi , filled up and light didn’t go out like it did when MAN filled up with £20 , but on way back from filling up and doing a 100 mile round trip the engine management system fault light came on and power dropped briefly it did this a couple of times then went out but the yellow engine emissions relevant light has stayed on . Still waiting for MAN service manager to get back to me , so have sent email about further incident . Not good for a van with 500 miles on clock .

Have you been able to scan your van? If you can find someone with VCDS it would be good to see what errors show. Then you may be able to visit MAN forearmed!

No , thanks for advice , I will see if i can find someone , vans now booked in at MAN Stockton next week as van specialist off sick this week .

Update , MAN Stockton ran a diagnostic today , dpf is faulty and sensor for it also and will need a recall/update to engine management before replacement part fitted . So hopefully will get fitted next week . No idea why MAN Gateshead couldn’t find fault .

If I understand you correctly you have a almost new TGE which has this problem and it requires an update to the engine ECU. If I'm right would you mind letting us know the exact age of your van please, in my instance to know if mine is likely to be in the same position. Mine was made on the 19th September 2022.

You can decode the manufacturing model year from the VIN - 10th digit is the model year - P=2023

The actual day is then decoded from the first three digits of the number printed vertically at the right end of the black ID sticker on the door pillar digits 1&2 are the week of the year, digit 3 is the day of the week, day 1 being Monday - the remaining four digits are the numerical sequence of vans produced on that day. Mine reads 3812918 - Week 38 day 1 (2918th van of the day) - See Week Numbers for 2022 Epoch calendar to display the week detail.

Will have a look , when I get van back , but guy said it’s not been doing regen due to fault so if your van is doing regen part is functioning unless you have warning lights on . No recalls on dvla site as I checked last week but not sure if minor stuff shows on there

Thanks, I think the DVLA listing is only for safety items. If you have a VW and ask in the parts department they can look at the 'Car Data' screen it will tell if there are any recalls but I've not found out what to ask for with MAN their system.

If you have had it serviced as it’s over a year old any updates should have been done when it was serviced . It’s a world away from getting car serviced as I’ve not had a scrap of paperwork when picked up , first visit was fill in a A4 sheet with issue and list any damage and hand keys over and on collection just asked what reg are you picking up mate and given keys and when asked what have you done , told bits and bobs , I’ve just come on shift . This visit started with we have an issue vans not registered for warranty as nothing showing on reg no . Ended up having to search by vin number to sort out after a call to converter to advise dealer to do that .

Hi , apologies for late reply but can has been to converter for some interior faults to be sorted and awning put on . So its2023 P week 41, and day 1 . Seemingly should have been picked up when PDI was done .
