Cheers, was more about general build, conversion as thinking of doing our own.
The conversion in general is good. I can't remember how much of the story I told before so here it is in a nutshell...
I've converted five VWs, 1xT4, 3xT5s & 1xT6 in the last twenty years but age (now nearly 77) etc. persuaded me that this one should be done to our spec by someone else. I found a local very small business who was willing to take the job on despite being told that having done them myself I would be "A pain in the ass".
Andy (converter) was given a long list of what we 'thought' we wanted bearing in mind that we've never owned a camper of this size. He translated that list into his understanding of our requirements along with making it fit into the vehicle. I then threw the curved balls of the Lippert bed and the Horrex flyscreen into the mix, remember that the flyscreen was not available in the UK at the time.
Andy was only about four miles from my house so working together was not a problem however only a couple of months into the job I was diagnosed with prostate cancer which threw lots of things up in the air somewhat!! Work continued with some ups and downs to a handover time of late November 2023.
Since November 2023 we've used the van for over 180 nights, I've fitted the 4kW Eberspacher (details elsewhere on this forum), changed the 30Amp B2B for the newer 50Amp Orion XS and altered the electrics to my satisfaction, no reflection on the converter. The overhead lockers in the rear were not large enough for our liking and these are being changed when time allows. The lower right side lockers were built to satisfy my original requirement to provide as large a floor width as possible but we now realise that the lockers should be wider to accommodate levelling ramps, EHU cables, water fill hose and the tools, bits & bobs etc. that one carries on long trips so these will be rebuilt asap.
I'll try to add photos of any significant changes that occur when they have happened. The five that I built for our own use proved that regardless of the thought that goes into design it's almost impossible to get it right without a few practice runs but mine couldn't have been too bad as two have gone to the same second owner.
To fill in the health situation, I had no symptoms, went for a test just on case so I now press all male acquaintances of 55 years plus to get a PSA test. I've now had radiotherapy to treat the cancer and live in the hope that it's cured.
