Hi guys

I have a man TGE with the factory webasto engine water pre heater,
I’m looking to fit a webasto diesel heater but my concern is because I have a factory engine pre heater will this be using the spare diesel tank nipple that everybody seems to use to connect to the tank for there diesel supply..I may of dropped a clanger spacing this on my factory build?
Any advice will be super helpful i didn’t really want to drop the tank to find out the answer
Thanks in advance brilliant forum

Tee the take-off for the Air heater before the engine heater pump, I'm sure that is how it's done on the factory fitted dual heaters.

If you are fitting the Webasto in the factory position then there is a thread on here showing how I fitted an Eberspacher, they all have the same footprint so will fit the same bracket.

I’m looking at a Diesel heater too, but again, because I’m nuts, I was gonna fit a separate diesel tank. 15L tank. Thoughts or opinions?

Why?
  • Waste of space.
  • Additional possible diesel smell.
  • More work when installing, the connection to the vehicle tank already exists, just snip and push on the OEM plumbing.
Supplying fuel to the heater from the engine tank was obviously good for the manufacturers and satisfies all of the international safety requirements so why attempt to do it another way.

Most that I’ve looked at come with a tank. Thought it would be easier than dropping main tank
