2025 Crafter stop start eliminator

Hi

I couldn't find anything relating to this on site, but has anyone found a way to disable the stop start function on 2025 crafter with digital dash?

Because the new VW's are so heavily locked down from factory there seems to be real problems using OBD Eleven type coders to code them, and as there is no physical stop start button any more I can't use a small hard wired option which I have used in the past on T6 and Audi that switches it off by default ever time you start vehicle. Is this even possible any more with no physical button?

I know I can switch it off eveytime I get in, and I have no issue with it switching off if I am sat in traffic for long periods, but inevitably I forget to turn it off when first getting in and first time I realise I have forgotten is when it switches off at first roundabout! and it really doesn't start that seamlessly, and I find it very dodgy when you are trying to filter on to roundabout and it ends up starting up rather than setting off, when you release clutch.

Any help from anyone who has managed this much appreciated

Thanks

Is your Crafter like my 2023 model TGE where the Stop-Start does not operate if you don't press on the brake pedal too hard when holding stationary? Or for that matter now that they have electric power steering is it like my T-Roc and starts if you tweak the steering?

Bearing in mind that both of the above two vehicles are Auto which may make a difference.

I drive a manual so will have a punt at this ;)

Sadly the newer vehicles come with SFD so you really can't do much even with the right tools, but back on topic: It will only perform a stop/start if the battery is full enough and you put it in neutral and let the clutch out, I tend to leave mine in 1st with the clutch in at roundabouts etc which prevents it doing this..

Given the above (needing the clutch out to be able to initiate an engine stop) you could try fitting a switch on the clutch posistion sensor (I think above the pedal) to fool it into believing the clutch is in, in this scenario it would not meet the criteria to stop. You would need to switch this mod off to start the van (might even be a useful additional security feature)
