Hi I have bought some load rated 20” alloy wheels for a crafter but seem to be having blow outs on the tyres I have been putting on. Someone has suggested AT tyres. What are suggested to fit so this doesn’t happen again. Tia Andy
@4ndy87 stop playing with boy racer wheels & tyres and get either 16" or 17" wheels and higher sidewall tyres you are driving a medium weight commercial vehicle it'll never be a GTI.
I bought mine from LK Performance. I wanted 20 inch rims too. Had an interesting conversation with the guys there regarding load rating, axle weight, use of van, cost of replacement tyres etc. Went with their 17” MSW (OZ) set black/polished, with Davanti DX740 van tyres. Handles well and feels nice to drive.
She is a heavy van, not a sports car. Curbs, speed bumps and pot holes are less of an issue with more rubber.
Tire size comparison the easy way. Use our tire size comparison calculator to compare diameter, width, sidewall, circumference and revolutions per mile.

If you oversize your wheels, it tells you the MPH difference at different speeds.
Went from stock 235/65/16 to 245/65/17.
Did it cause the TPMS sensor light to show on the dash when fitted as I assume you would run these tyres at a lower pressure than the standard factory fit.
Many thanks for the reply. I am due delivery of MAN tge 4 Motion in a few weeks. It would appear, as you show, that on these build dates it’s not possible to add other values, though others might have found a way.
Changing the one set of tyre pressure values can be done by the dealer and unfortunately no longer by anyone with vcds. I'm actually still waiting for a tyre size change too.
The black wheels in my pfp are not on the vehicle atm, the stock wheels are.
My dealer has submitted a change to the factory to have larger tyres approved as all the campervan upfitters are using larger tyres and they will not use OEM sizing as customers demand larger tyres for improved ground clearance and to be able to drive with 1 bar pressure and still be able to drive over sand and rocks whilst having a high sidewall. You need a /75 or better a /80 sidewall height.
My preferred tyre width is as narrow as possible as this makes the tyre behave like it was aired down a lot more, saving time airing up/down. Saving weight too.
Thank you. That is absolutely correct. MAN in the UK seem to be a bit behind. I hope it will still be able to happen as an upgrade after delivery or I might consider cancelling.
Do you know of any problems with the Seakel 30mm lift. Is this causing front sensor problems as well ?
I don't have any knowledge of lift kits, but this one is missing the stand off for the drive shaft under the floor.
I've heard people say that it's better to drop the subframe as the suspension geometry will stay as desired in the front, especially the cv-joints will be stressed extra from a lift.
Those tyres will probably fit, I've been told the Ecu has a 5% margin for tyre size and your choice is +5,4%.
