Diff locks on current Crafter 4x4

Anyone know if the current Crafter 4x4 4Motion has a central mid difflock, I know there's an option for one in the rear. I think it also uses the ABS to act as a electronic diff locks but wondered if it has a real mechanical diff lock?

No central lock, it uses a haldex system that only engaged when the front starts to lose traction.

Mine has a rear diff lock but this can only be specced at manufacture and can not be added later.

The abs is used to stop a single front wheel spinning by braking the spinning side to force power to the non spinning wheel.

Because I drive well off the beaten track I fitted a Van Der Veer haldex controller to allow me to manually control the haldex and force 50/50 split. The main issue with the van controlling it is that it's reactive. Waiting for the fronts to lose traction before dumping drive to the rear wheels just didn't cut it for me (I have been rather simplistic with my explanation)

The rear diff lock was an expensive option but it has gotten me out of a couple of places I would otherwise have struggled with.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, does the rear difflock drop out on it's own or does it stay locked if you tell it to ?
I come for a Land Rover background with positive locks, even with 3 wheels in the air it would still drive!

No it stays on till you either turn off the ignition or you hit the dash button again.

The MFD comes up with the message in the picture (or says deactivating when turning off)
The only indication after the MFD message is the yellow diff lock lights stays on when it's actually on.

Mine like the Landrover will drive with 3 wheels spinning though in that scenario I would probably be using the winch ;)

I have the rear diff lock on mine but stupidly reset its basic settings via VCDS when repairing the Haldex a few months ago.
I now have an error saying there is no basic settings, i have been unable to fix this so far, i suspect its going to require something like odis to fix.

I thought VCDS kept a log of settings changed (maybe not if you ask the module to reset) I am happy to interrogate my module and pass on what it says if that may help?

You could also ask on the Ross Tech forum for help.

the module has been reset 😅
i did find something on the rosstech forum of q similar issue and they did not have a solution.
