Hi all , finally joined the community of Crafter's , after having a T4 is great to be able to stand up inside šŸ˜€. 2015 (only 70k mikes) lwb Crafter now a fully kitted out camper with garage area too -- & we love it . Great site and loads of good info on here - but........ A bit of a strange question straight away though - has anybody experienced any intermittent clutch slipping & if so what was the fault/ fix ? It really is a wierd one with no indication to when it'll start (pedal feels the same & no strange noises) then will randomly start slipping quite seriously (on flat or uphill) , so coax it around and after a fair number of gear changes it's suddenly OK again , & can be fine for 100's of miles, then just start slipping again . Any experience or ideas please. Chance of going into the alpes before the end of this , it would be "character building " if it started with the fault again up those hills. Thank you in advance .

Thanks "rod vw" for your welcome. Looks a great forum , with loads of various reading to be done. Cheers

Occams razor would suggest the clutch itself despite the intermittent nature. I’d certainly get that checked out before going anywhere near the Alps- definitely not the place to have total failure😱

Morning "Kipperman" , "Occams razor" ? , yeah , definitely not he place for a clutch to go awol . Just done +400 miles in it this weekend without fault. Aren't intermittent faults the worst kind. A "short" trip up to the Scottish Highlands for this week will be another little test before the big trip - all very peculiar indeed. Fingers (and everything else ) crossed it's uneventful. The only thing that would seem a viable possibility is maybe a problem with either the master or slave cylinder not releasing the full pressure when released - but why so rarely and intermittent , although it is like clutching at straws if you forgive the pun .

Occams razor - simply the concept of the most obvious reason( for clutch failure in this case) being the most likely (in this case clutch lining wear). Doesn't of course exclude other possibilities.
