TGE Next Level Primary User

Since delivery of my van in April 2025 I have not had much interaction with the infotainment system other than the usual functions that operate via it. Unfortunately this is most things including the radio and heater system. I took delivery of a new VW Golf recently and during the handover the staff set me up as Primary User on the infotainment system, including matching the key fobs to the system. Now my van has the smaller 10 inch version of this system but without factory sat nav. My question is did anyone else get their Crafter or TGE set up this way at handover because I didn't and, the supplying converter knows nothing about it? I cannot assign a Primary User and I have spoken with various people through MAN Dealers and at Swindon and they seem to be clueless as to why I cannot assign a Primary User? I did speak with a Dealer in Wales and their conclusions were, you cannot do it without Sat Nav installed? What is unclear is why the function exists if its not needed?

Any thoughts?

Afaik you need an account that costs at MAN, I also don't have it and I have the 12" Navi display.

Ok, thanks for that. I have set up an account with MAN but it says unable to load your details at this time. The van is booked in at the local dealer for some repairs and updates. The Technician who is dealing with the problems says the updates for the infotainment system and battery will solve the Primary User issue.

I've had my van a few weeks now and emailed my dealer with the same question. Apparently this function is not currently available – but MAN are launching it later in the year.

Thanks for that. It is the same system VW use, I have had an account on that for years and just add and subtract vehicles as needed. Unfortunately MAN is focused on commercial users, so having an employee logging into and locking the infotainment system would be undesirable. But MAN is pushing the convenience of having 24hr servicing for campervans and so on and, more converters are using the chassis. They have to give private users access to the tech they have bought. In my opinion.

Does your van have a working Android Auto or Apple CarPlay at all?

For some reason my (OnePlus 11 5G) is connected with Bluetooth to the head unit and music streaming works fine, to the internal player, but AA won't work. Using a cabled connection with the OnePlus supplied redcable.
