Should I be pressing my MAN dealer to fix this? It's a VCDS printout.

Good question!

What made you check? Does it come back if you clear the fault?
It wasn't a fault that showed up on the dash, I scan my vehicles reasonably regularly. This scan was before the dealers did the service on it just to see what changes they made!
Yes it does come back if I clear the faults so I will keep an eye on it now that the vehicle is going to be doing more miles to keep the engine battery well charged just in case a low engine battery has some bearing on this.

This is the first vehicle I have ever owned in fifty seven years of car ownership that has been into a dealers for a service but with age creeping up on me and this being so much different and larger than the T6 etc. we decided that a service plan and extended warranty would be a sensible move. By the time that expires I will be eighty years of age!

You’re right, it might just be a low battery. A low battery with throw up all sorts of fault codes.

Worth keeping an eye on.

Possibly something similar to this one

Anyways, the actual workshop manual (even for TGE) is available in VW erWin

A bit confusing information bit in the manual (07.2020 edition though) vs. VCDS.
For the MAN TGE, the telematics system is available as of 02.2018 with installed telematics control unit -J499-, depending on equipment.

As the VCDS reported

Does your VCDS scan show a Special vehicle control unit -J608- to be onboard - in VCDS scan? Just curios because it's mentioned to be a "prerequisite"

Anyways, the battery seems to be a replaceable one. The controller on RHD vehicles is behind glove compartment.

Thanks @mmi the MAN dealer told me it was integral with the telematics unit but as you say it's shown as a separate item and listed so in the parts system (PR 0Z0).

They also indicated that it may charge when the van has longer use so as I covered 160miles with it yesterday I will re-scan it and report back.

Part lists shows...

Have you any idea what 'Technical product information 2051430' is? Perhaps only a shelf life of the battery?

PS do you have a Crafter or TGE yet?

Per Crafter wiring diagram J949 is connected KL30a wiring harness - thus permanent 12V there. So would expect to be get charged even by just having a battery charger connected to the van?
By googling pictures the battery seems to be labelled as Li-ion battery.

Most likely the battery status is available via VCDS advanced measurement values - below snippets from two different T6.1 (though different part number 5WA-035-282)

Sorry no. I guess erWin would have it, and dealers of course.

Sorry no . But I have downloaded all the documentation from erWin - so a kind of good start anyways - I hope :D

EDIT: It seems that my ability to edit my messages expires in a few hours.
Anyways, the battery 3G0 915 089 statistics (from a sticker found in the net):
Capacity: typical 1490 mAh (10.8 Wh) minimum 1390 mAh (10.1 Wh)
Li-Ion battery 7.3 V
