2026 plate double bench to single seat

Hi

New to the crafter forum. I have a 2026 plate mwb crafter. Id like to remove the bench seat and fit a single in its place . What are my options to do this as ive been told the double seat has airbag pressure sensors and 2 seat belt sensors. Is it a VW job or DIY.

I'm no expert on this but I do know that all of the seatbelt receivers and seat occupancy sensors MUST remain connected or you have an airbag warning which can only be reset with VCDS or similar.

I have advised owners wishing to change from double to single to strip out the complete sensor and receiver assembly from the double seat and fit half of it in the single seat fastening the spare parts up under the seat. I have enquired of one of the major coding specialists if they knew of a way to code out the un-used seat and the answer was emphatically NO.

If you are contemplating a double swivel mechanism then it is necessary to retain all of the wiring and fit a 'plug & play' extension to the factory loom which I can supply there are two versions, one for the R&J Camper solutions swivel and one for the CJL Leisure swivel. Both of these manufacturers also should have stock of the same loom extension.
