What’s going on around this hinge?

Got my van 2 days ago, have just done a big clean through the back and came across this:



Looks like it’s from stress around the rear hinge.. anyone seen this happen before? How much of a concern should it be?

The hinge mounting on to the door is a known issue. VW try to repair/reinforce and will eventually replace the door. MAN have a reinforcement piece that can be added. Both have service bulletins on the issue I believe.
