VW Crafter original factory fit aux heater to engine pre heater??

I have a Grand California with the aux diesel heater controlled from above, this heats water in the cooling system and blows hot air out through the dash vents, it can be used three times a day upto 120 mins a day???(don't know why, perhaps battery voltage)
It is fitted centrally under the van and is just about silent in operation.

I think it's 5KW, I discovered it can also be used to aid/boost the heater with engine running too by simply pressing that same button.

When stationary it does not cycle the cooling system although the header tank does warm, it just heats the cab heater, is there a way to make this an engine/block pre heater.

Does this van have electric or manual water pump??

No, it's a factory fit Webasto. It fits rear of engine down low. Can use the VW app to activate or by remote and via the overhead control panel. It then blows hot air through the screen vents, although the header tank gets warm it does not circulate the engine.

So possibly the coolant circuitry is as below - where 3/2 way valve is controlling whereto heated coolant flows.

I would experiment the possibilities to alter the way how 3/2 valve operates (by altering the heater coding) - to enable coolant flow also through the engine.

Below shown how the engine pre-heating can be activated on T6 Transporter.

Below a Crafter's possibly having the engine pre-heating (Address: 18)

Please keep researching this, also the problem with original webasto on Crafter is that is can only be used three times a day. Then you have to drive???

"When the vehicle is at a standstill, the auxiliary heater can be activated up to three times in succession with a running time of 60 minutes, for example. A complete heating operation with the maximum possible running time of 120 minutes can be performed only once in full when the vehicle is stationary. The auxiliary heater then prematurely switches itself off automatically or can no longer be switched on. In order to switch on the auxiliary heater again, you must first move the vehicle by a distance of around 30 m at a speed of at least walking pace."
