Tow Bar Preperation 2025 Crafter

Hi,

Looking for information regarding the VW Factory Tow Bar preparation option on my 2025 Crafter if anyone is able to assist:-

Where is the connection for the electrics
Will it require the vehicle to be coded or is it plug & play
Where can I purchase the Towbar wiring kit & towbar

There’s no mention of coding with the above instructions but is highly likely.
PF Jones are usually very good but it’s worth comparing their prices between the website and eBay as usually one is cheaper than the other.

Mine came with no preperation from the factory at all so after fitting mine I had a choice of paying a dealer to program it in or purchasing a Ross-Tech interface to program it in myself. I did the latter and once I understood that more than one module needed programming it was a breeze. I could be wrong but with factory prep I think it's just plug and go.

I will add that the Ross-tech interface has been one of the best after market purchases I have made for the van. A few members of this forum are members of the Ross-Tech forum too and have helped me out with stuff, so a shout out to them on here too, Thanks guys

When was your van built? Mine is built in 11-2024 and apparently -from hearsay, not empirical evidence- has limitations on what you can do with VCDS, if not I am willing to purchase a license as it's a good tool to have.

I ordered towbar prep from the factory for my MAN TGE 2025 model year. The factory wiring plug is on the N/S at the rear panel exiting the main loom on an oval plug with a blanking cap. I ordered the Ebay kit and it was plug and play. All the reversing sensors are disabled in reverse when connected to the trailer.
