Retrofitting adaptive cruise control

Hi everyone,

I'm looking at getting a 2018+ Crafter, but really want adaptive cruise control. From what I can see it's either a really rare option or could only be retrofitted.

I'm wondering how difficult it is to install. Does it help starting with a Trendline that already comes with standard cruise control? If I would need a new steering wheel anyway it seems like getting a startline would be cheaper (and there's loads more startlines available to choose from)
The internet says you need the highline instrument cluster, but all the ones I've seen (on startlines and trendlines) look the same. Is there an obvious check?
Do you have to have the trendline stereo/headunit for it to work? I've seen photos of the ACC menu on the headunit so wondering if I'd have to install that as well.

Thanks for everyones help!:)

Talk to VW Retrofits they can fit that for you, I guess price will depend on the status of the vehicle that you buy.

I think if you are able to supply them with a VIN they can give you a good idea of the cost involved.

I had the cruise control in my 2018 T6 converted to ACC by a chap in Augsburg Germany (as I happened to be driving past). I needed a new steering wheel, with the button for the distance control, and he did replace my radar (but I think that was only to save the hassle of updating my existing radar - which I still have). It has worked perfectly ever since and I use it a lot.
I would have thought that the Crafter would be similar?
