Rear Door Gas Struts

Fitted some gas struts to the rear doors. Very easy. Very quick. Such a difference. Looked online and some companies were charging about £220 for a kit. I bought the parts myself for about £60 from Amazon & eBay. Makes opening the doors easier when they're heavier with storage boxes or spare wheels on the back. Stops them from swinging shut on you on windy days or steep slopes. Guessing if you wanted to, you could remove those metal restraining brackets that keep your doors from fully opening or as I have, keep both as a safety measure.

eBay Struts - Right side 900mm & 100Nm . Left side 1000mm & 100Nm
eBay Gas strut fittings - 10mm ball end fitting
Amazon Gas strut fittings - M6

At the rear bumper fitting I used the existing holes but in the plastic bumper hole recesses I fitted two M6 washers each side just to raise the strut pin up a little bit.

Great idea. Silly question assume that the struts pivot on the ball joint and doors close without detaching? 🤙🏻
