plumbing and step issues.

Panic stations. First time checking all the plumbing. Emptied the kitchen sink, and it drained into the shower tray. Slowly.
The waste tank has a vent hose fitted. all plumbing done with 20mm convoluted pipe.
Have fitted a check valve today and made sure that all the pipes are level. Hope it fixes the issue. I will find out in the morning.

If you have 'Teed' the sink and shower drain then this is quite likely the problem. My simple answer would be take both to the grey waste tank separately. You could say 'been there, done that'.

Just back from a 2 day shake down trip.
Our only issues seemed to be poor selection of an electric hob (2.5kW) and the shower drain being too small.
The recent drain issue was fixed by piping the sink and shower separately into the tank. Thanks Rod-VW.
I also kept the check valve on the shower waste pipe.
We are going to upgrade the shower waste to a larger pipe to assist drainage.
I installed the one that came with the shower tray, but it is just under 20mm diameter.

I'm foreseeing a drain pump to pump the waste water into the grey water tank, that is also an option.
Downside is, it costs money, needs electricity and weighs 1 or 2 kg.
The reason to place one of these is if your water outlet is a lot lower than the grey tank inlet, it will pump the water up automatically upon registering water ingress, solving any slow emptying drainage issues there might be.

looks like I might be retrofitting a water pump too then. Thanks for the advice.

Update on the plumbing. I ripped out all of the camper waste pipes from the shower, and installed a 32mm waste instead. Used a compact waterless trap and a non return valve on 32mm solvent weld pipes, straight into the tank and……….
It no longer has issues.
Except the outgoing waste has a niggling little drip that no matter what I have done, just persists. Right next to the isolation tap. But everything looks sound so not sure. Might rip that out and go for something more substantial.
The shower waste fits flush with the cross member. It’s making me sooo happy.

Open to ideas on the outgoing waste. Currently 3/4” flexi pipe hidden inside a 32mm rigid for protection.

Anybody had thoughts on fitting an electric dump valve from the grey waste tank?

I want to do this as I want to be able to automate emptying in case of freezing, but also for the fresh water tank.
