Alternator Belt Snapped

The Alternator belt just snapped on my 2021 MAN TGE. It appears to be a simple belt between crank pulley and alternator pulley. I want to replace it myself but have now realised there’s no Haynes Manual for this vehicle (like I used for my Transit). What is everyone using to guide them through repairs like this? I really don’t want to “miss” anything that is part of a proper repair process.

All available to download officially from VW at a not too excessive cost, search erWin. Full dealer level info.

You will also find a website that can supply FOC but I'll leave you to search that out.

I found the crafter manuals but the section on V-belt replacement for vehicles without a tensioner appears to be incomplete (see attached screenshot).

Has anyone done this job on a similar vehicle (ie one with a simple stretch belt between crankshaft pulley and alternator?) I cannot for the life of me work out how to get this belt on. I’ve been fighting with it for a day already and no luck. The fan belt attaches onto the outer end of the crank pulley too, and is a larger diameter than the alternator section, so doing the cable tie trick won’t work…but I cannot figure out any way to get the belt onto the alternator pulley whilst trying to crank the crankshaft pulley by hand. This is driving me mad!

Do you have any adjustment on the alternator? If so loosen that up to max, but, mark the position before hand. It will make life easier on tightening up.
