my van went in to the garage with a couple of lights on the dash and in limp mode but still drove there fine and just done 3/400 miles in it.
they were going to sort my dpf out but I got a call saying they wanted to check cylinders 2 and 3. the next day I get a call saying bad news the engines knackered and a quote of £7500 to rebuild it, new clutch, manifold and egr cooler. I called at the garage the next day and couldn't believe what I was seeing, the whole front end missing and the engine in 1000 pieces on the floor.
I asked for it to be put back together but they say they can't its too bad. it has done 230k but its been driving fine all year just a slight water leak probably from egr cooler.
anyway I've calmed down now and thinking id rather a new engine or a second hand low milage one rather than a re built one.
just wondered what peoples thoughts are and if anyone has an engine or knows where's best to get one ? probably man tge ?
