R&J double swivel in 2025 onward vans!!!

Be wary of fitting an R& J double swivel (probably any others as well) to a 2025 onward van as you MUST keep the seat belt wiring intact!

If you don't you will have an airbag warning on the dash which needs the van 'plugging in' with VCDS or similar to clear.

It is possible to modify the wiring loom to enable the seat to swivel and keep it all working but it's not a simple job! You have to be very careful to route the extended loom in such a way to reach when the seat is rotated but not get trapped in the seat mechanism when the seat is moved, jacked and lowered.

To identify the problem vans, 2025 onward you will have eight wires in a big red plug & socket joining the seat loom (just for belt monitoring) to the main loom where as the older vans only had two.

An update to all.

I am now able to manufacture a 1100mm plug and play extension loom populated with all seventeen wires of the same cross section area as original wiring specification. Wire colours are what I can obtain not as OEM. I only supply these with all wires regardless of how few are in your particular installation, this way I can be sure that it will work with any version of seating.

This loom has red male and female 17 pin/socket connections that simply connect to extend the factory loom and will allow a double seat to rotate without disconnecting any wiring. The routing of the loom within the seat base is up to the installer paying particular attention to ensuring that it does not foul the seat mechanism during normal usage.

Please contact me for the price and availability.

Good evening, your extension seems to be exactly what we have been looking for for our conversion. It's fantastic to see a solution here! We are currently converting our 2024 Crafter with 2025 specifications into a camper. We will be installing the console from r&j campersolutions for the front bench seat. Would you also ship your cable extension to Germany?

Best regards from southern Germany,
Christoph

Hi Christoph,

Yes I can ship to Germany, the price is £25 per unit plus shipping. I do have a number of orders in the pipeline and do not have much stock of parts at present so there may be a delay in supply. Please come back to me via my own email address, [email protected] if you wish to order an extension loom.

Thanks for your interest in these looms.

Now this is where things become ironic. Whilst talking with Christoph I discovered that although he and I live almost 1200km apart he lives within 16km of a good friend of mine and even more ironic they know one another. How small the world is!

@Christoph L3H3 I hope to make your extension cables tomorrow and will than be in contact again.

For others reading this I think there is a solution to the same problem with CJ Leisure double seat swivels. Watch this space.
