Hello and thank you in advance for any help

Have got an issue with my tank, costs about 380 to fill and gives back about 350 miles per tank

Looking for either a larger tank or an auxillary tank

Does anyone have any advice or links on this please?

I am locatd in south west and south east but wiling to travel to anyone who supply and fit

Thanks in advance

I'm having difficulty understanding your figures, please tell us what units you are using.

Putting 69litres of diesel in my 75litre tank costs me about £96 obviously depending on the source, that was in France two weeks ago.

Consumption wise I am returning just over 30MPG (corrected odometer) in a fully converted LWB Auto MAN 3.180 (177ps) plus frequent use of our 4kW Eberspacher on cold nights. Those figures translate to between 400 & 450 miles per tank full.

In addition to the above, my 3.180 is over 3500kg so up-plated thus I suspect heavier than yours.

Perhaps my (and my wife's) right boot is somewhat lighter than yours.

Mine is a Luton van I fill up at Costco and best I can squeeze in is £83

I am far from heavy footed, keeping plot in average on adaptive cruise at 60mph van is automatic

With a full tank the needle gets to about 180-90 at the halfway mark, but then it drops a notch rapidly down to a quarter on 240-50

I have read somewhere that there is something in the filler neck to prevent you from filling it up over 70l and the real size of the tank is quite larger

Ah the plot is solved, you are driving an even bigger brick than the rest of us having the extra frontal area of the Luton body. I guess your 350 miles per 70ish litres equates to about 23mpg, it's all down to aerodynamics and weight carried.

From experience of these vans there is almost a cliff edge in the MPG / Speed graph, you may find the 60MPH is the wrong side of that edge.

Excellent thank you
Yes drop it down to 50 and it’s slightly better but not much

Thus back to the original question; is there a bigger tank or an auxiliary that can be fitted and if so anyone know who can do it

This seems to be the case in most vans / motorhomes , ive hired a few different sorts over the years and once your past 55mph every 5mph increase seems to lose 5mpg .

A quick search of the internet only reveals a couple of companies in Australia that do them. In the Uk you could try Kaktus Adventure vans, VWT5 upgrades or Volkstrek, all build or supply parts for adventure vans that are crafter based. If they don’t use them themselves they may know of a supplier

Thank you for your helpfulness
And more over thank you for actually answering my question and not just digging me out 🤪
