Would you class these as a necessity ?

Seem to be standard fit on most larger vans/campers so thinking its the way to go, my local supplier stocks maxxfan units and does a cover/blind to go over it at night, not cheap but are they any good ?
Had a search and theres loads of units at all different price points (plenty of cheaper ones) so i trying to figure out how much to spend on one, input welcomed

Be aware if it’s the internal pull across blind from maxxfan powered vent it’s not particularly light tight

You def need good ventilation when living in a van for any length of time.

If building again, I’d definitely fit exactly the same again- 2 Maxxfans one front one rear.
They work brilliantly together to get rid of steam and cooking smells. With 10 speeds you can accurately control air flow.

Dead quite too.

The internal covers have roller blackout blinds. The blinds are pretty flimsy and not quite blackout. They finish the inside really nicely so if probably buy again. But I use fabric covered foam pads to reduce noise on motorways- good for insulation too

Externally there are three finishes to the lid.
White - Solid white not transparent at all.

Smoke- look very dark -almost black from outside but let a surprising amount of light
through.
Clear- let loads of light through and appear transparent.

Search you tube, Greg Virgoe has an unboxing vid showing all three.
