Hi everyone… new here. I’ve just started my first conversion. I wanted to put a skylight in, but the place I want it to go would involve cutting away one of the roof cross members. I feel these are probably more important than the bracing that everyone cuts off the side walls when putting in windows? Maybe even more so as the one in question is the one that connects to the side at the rear of the sliding door. Can I do this? Should I weld a frame up around the skylight and connect it to what’s left of the cross member? Should I just leave it the hell alone? Thoughts very welcome
