Hi, I have recently bought 2019 MAN tge 3140 which I have satred to convert.
Suddenly I have problems with my ignition. |The key wont turn. I have checked the obvious , but so far no results. |Fortunately the van is at home.

Is it automatic or manual?

The auto has an interlock between the gear selector and ignition barrel. This prevents the key being turned or removed if the selector is in certain positions.

Not sure about the manual, perhaps someone else will know.

Is the steering lock released, sometimes if the wheel is under tension it will jam the key until you release the turning pressure on the steering wheel ?

tried all of that nd eventually had to take the barrel off - with some difficulty. Took it to nE truck and Vans in Carlise (35 miles) who have diagnosed that I need a new steering lock and ingnition start. The steering lock was working, so i am a bit confused now. I havent been able to speak to the mechanic as yet - they are always busy.

Will I have to reprogramme the keys, get new keys or use existing?
I have been given part numbers
