Hi, from the greener and usually wetter end of the M4.

Thanks for having me.
Google sent me here whilst I was looking for the source of a water leak in the cab that filled up the left hand dash cup holder, not uncommon I see. Turns out mine is coming from the windscreen seal, top centre 😫
I have made use of the search function and had many questions answered already but I’m sure to be asking more in the near future.
Oh yes, 2019 Crafter, 75k, and soon to be a campervan 👍

Im new here too but have always found forums really really helpful and this one is already proving the same, welcome. I’m at the smokier more miserable/stressful end of the M4 :D

You are most welcome here, we will always try to help.

Not everyone can come from the other end of the M4 after all if that were the case we wouldn't need the M4 :D .

I find the water is actually condensation from the uninslauted roof above the cab liner which then makes it way down the pillars and drips out of the grab handles. Each winter I promise to drop the liner and insulate it (but in 3 summers I still haven't) my ongoing fix is to have j-cloths in each cup holder.

Thats what I was expecting it to be, but it was bone dry on the inner roof so I got the hose pipe out and it literally poured in when directed at the top of the screen. It has had a replacement screen at some point unless VW are using Fuyao glass and using a partially sighted chimp with the shakes to apply the bonding.

Ouch! I doubt it was VW not fitting it incorrectly as they use machines to apply the sealant (unless it came off the line on a Friday afternoon)

What are you going to do, a chip that is too big to repair (if you know what I mean) may be the cheapest option but that depends on your insurer

I had three options as far as I could see - bodge it, have it re-bonded (about £100)or have it replaced (just under £300.) (obviously not VW)
I told the guy/garage I bought the van from (in December) he didn’t hesitate just got his phone out, called the glass people and ordered a new screen on the spot, to be fitted next week at no cost to me or my insurance :giggle: (y).

Nice to find a good dealer, it restores some confidence in the trade.
