Hi All
Just bought (8 days ago) our first VW. It’s a 2019 (although 2018 reg which I don’t quite understand) Crafter trendline CR35.
Took it back to Newcastle last weekend to give it a good run and see my old dear. I noticed that sometimes there’s a couple of cars come up in the dash with an exclamation mark and arrow between them which a quick Google said is to do with front assist cruise control.
I don’t think we have that, as the cruise control doesn’t maintain distance to the vehicle in front, but the graphic appearing is confusing. Does that mean there’s a sensor fitted? If so is it possible to upgrade to front assist? In menu’s I have a front assist option which is ticked and I wonder if it’s possible to upgrade as well as costs?

Thanks everyone

Graham

Hi @Workyticket, welcome aboard.

Re the registration date and the model year of your Crafter. VW model year's nominally begin at the 1st August of the preceding year so your 2019 model could have been manufactured any time after 1st August 2018. I hope that clears up that question.

Re the graphic on the dash showing two vehicles with an exclamation mark between, that indicates that you are driving too close to the vehicle in front thus risking a collision. The sensor for that is the rectangular item in the centre of the front bumper area below the number plate, this is also the sensor for the Adaptive Cruise Control if you have that installed. The ACC is operated by the buttons on the left side of the steering wheel, all described in the owners hand book. If you don't have a book please come back on here and me or someone else will try to find a copy of those instructions for you.
