Blind Repairs

It appears that the pleated blinds fitted to Remis and Seitz windows are prone to failing. They have two tensioned cords running through them to keep them level etc. These break and the blind goes wonky and won’t stay up.

There are loads of videos on YouTube on how to restring the blinds. If you have built your own van then fixing a blind is easy.

The hard part is getting a new cord. The cord is usually a black waxed cord. You can get 1mm cord from most craft shops, however, 1.6mm cord seems to be a better fix.

If you travel a lot it is worth buying a couple of metres of 1.6mm cord and keeping it in your spares box.
