235/65 Pirelli scorpion plus on 17x7j 5x120 ET55 steel wheels?

Hi guys, I'm just finishing up my van and having trouble finding wheels and tires. I'm not at all sure if they will fit as I don't have them written in the technical document of the car. I currently have 16 inch 205/65. But I want to go to the classic 17 inch T5/T6 wheels with AT tires.
Does anyone have experience with this size for a production WV Crafter? I'm afraid of spending around 1200 euro and then finding out they are too big. I'm also wondering if it would be possible to fit snow chains on this size of wheels.

I’ve got 245/65 on mine all terrain Michelin’s. No rubbing or anything lock to lock but I’m not sure whether snow chains would be okay on my size
