Double seat pressure sensor/seat belt sensor

Hi, I’m looking to swap out my double for a single seat. The wiring in the double appears to be just two wires that split off to the two seatbelt stalks and two pressure sensors on the seat bases. I’ve read that fitting a 3.3ohm resistor to the seatbelt plugs will stop any faults showing. Does anyone know if I can just fit one resistor to the red plug that splits the loom in the seat base? The single seats don’t have any wiring to the stalks or seat sensors. Thanks

I think the pressure sensors are tied into the airbag system ie if it doesnt know anyone is sitting there with a seatbelt on it wont fire the airbags in a crash

Thanks Pauly. That’s how I believe it works. I’ve disconnected the seat sensors and it hasn’t thrown a fault code up yet. I thought this would have been a common issue with the number of people swapping seats but can’t find any answers online

Pre 2025 models have just the simple circuit for the passengers seat(s) as far as I am aware. Here is the diagram. As you see the note '2' indicates the extra wiring when a double seat is fitted so no reason why it cannot be removed. FYI the brown wire simply goes to a chassis ground somewhere in the vehicle loom.

I've got single seats from new but have fitted a passengers double in the rear and connected the belt warning from that in parallel with the original passengers one and it all works as it should.

From 2025 this is very different!! I'm working on producing an extended loom for those fitting a double swivel into a 2025 onwards van. Prototype is in service OK and a fully working 'plug & play' version should be available within a couple of weeks.

Thanks Tony that’s really useful. On that basis am I correct in thinking that I wouldn’t need any resistors in the seatbelt stalks as the pressure sensors won’t complete the circuit to the stalks so I can just unplug at the tvsr connection block?

You shouldn't need any components added the circuit as in the diagram I posted is simple.

I think the buckle contacts are shown incorrectly, My take on it is that they are 'made' when the belt is not buckled thus when a weight is put on the seat the sensor conducts electricity and when the belt is buckled the circuit is broken again. Current flowing = warning on, circuit broken = no warning.
