Alpine Halo 11

Hi all, has anyone installed a Halo 9 or 11 in a Mk2 Crafter (2023). I've just purchased an Alpine 11 with various wiring looms to retain MFSW, reversing camera and SoS button. I have never seen so many cables! Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated! TIA.

I've fitted them to Transporters before. Hardest job is cramming everything back in behind the dash. How have you got on?

Hi Matey, I have completed the install and managed to hide all the cables. The SoS/eCall loom had a lot of wires! We've managed to hide them in the dash ok. Unfortunately, I have a few issues. FM/AM not picking up any signals. Front parking sensors not being visualised on the screen and Driving Data option not displayed on menu. I've used the Alpine vehicle specific adapter and Connects2 adapters for the SoS/eCall, DAB radio and FM/AM radio. I even managed to change the start up screen :)

Anyone got any ideas how to resolve these issues?

Installed the halo 11 in my 2020 crafter trend line. Hardest for me was pulling the wiring across from globebox unit.

Still haven’t sorted the usb socket located on the drivers side near a pillar - the unit that came with the halo seems too big to fit back in place.

Did you get yours fitted all okay?

I did manage to change the boot up screen with a custom image 🤙🏻

Hi, yes we managed to install the screen and various wiring looms fine, surprised at how much room we had under te dash in the end. We have also been able to update the boot up screen. Though sadly, still got a few issues that I'm trying to get help from Alpine with.

There is a fair amount of space up there. What issues are you having ? I must admit mine just plugged in and I got all the mfsw all good plus the vehicle info.

Thing I was disappointed with was the motorhome info that you can switch on, that disappears off the screen, bit of an afterthought I think

The MFSW features work fine, the reversing camera works fine too. Even been able to customise the boot screen.

The issues below are the key ones.
  1. Visual aid for the front parking sensors is not displayed.
    1. The audio works as expected and both the audio and visual aids for the rear sensors are functional.
  2. Vehicle Settings menu issues.
    1. Unable to access the Climatic menu within Interface Settings
    2. Driving Data menu is not displayed within Interface Settings
    3. Under Driver Assistance, Parking & Manoeuvring, the ParkPilot option is greyed out and inaccessible.
I'm using the Alpine APF-X320MIB CAN to UART Interface and the Halo has been updated to the latest version.

Does your interface menu look like the one in the attached picture. The manual suggests there should be another option under Climatic.

TIA - Richard

If helps, this is a link to the wiring loom that I purchased with the halo as specified by dynamic sounds to achieve continuity of info when changing from oem headunit:

Hi, thanks for the pictures, really helpful. I'm clearly missing a menu!!
I have used the same wiring loom which was provided by Alpine. I have chased their Customer Service Team again (4th time). Fingers crossed I get a response.

PS - love the Storm Troopers :)

Did you buy directly from alpine or a retailer? Can recommend dynamic sounds, might be worth a chat with them. Tell them the product code of the wiring loom you got at least to rule that out maybe?

Crafter has been named Trooper… so had to be done. 🤙🏻

Thanks. I purchased from Car Audio Direct and in fairness they have been really helpful. they have also reached out to Alpine, so fingers crossed Alpine finally respond. Very disappointing they've not responded to my emails. I may reach out to Dynamic Sounds, though feels a little cheeky as I didn't purchase from them. Trooper, is a cracking name! :)

Good luck getting it sorted and hope it turns out to be a simple fix.

I remember when ordering mine the guy was thorough checking what functions I had e.g sos, mfsw, vehicle data etc. to make sure I got the right loom which suggested there are multiple variants to suit. My gut says that’s where the issue lay. I would be asking supplier to replace the loom and double check with them it is compatible with your van. You never know they may have sent the wrong one in error 🤷🏼‍♂️.
