Cutting side panel struts

Good morrow
I’ve fitted the bed width ways but the vertical struts on the rear panels really need cutting out before I put some dodo mat or other thinnish insulation there. Anyone done this? Seems pretty straightforward but can’t find anything on internet.

Best bet would be to use an angle grinder with a thin cutting disc. Mask everything up to prevent metal dust going everywhere. Once the slits are made the struts will usually be held in place with some sealant/bonding agent, just carefully peel away so that the outer panel doesn’t distort
 
I believe you can buy nibbler type pliers now seen a few people on utube it looks way better than the grinder option?
